  13. 1 tsp. garam masala powder
  14. 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  15. oil to deep fry
  16. Kadhi -
  17. 1/2 cup yoghurt
  18. 2 tbsp. besan (gram flour)
  19. 3 cups water
  20. to taste salt
  21. 1/4 tsp. turmeric powder
  22. 1 tsp. coriander-cumin powder
  23. 1 tsp. kasuri methi, crushed
  24. Tempering -
  25. 1 tbsp. oil
  26. 1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
  27. 1/4 tsp. fenugreek seeds
  28. pinch asafoetida
  29. 1 sprig curry leaves

Instructions to make to make Chicken Balls Kadhi

  1. Chicken Balls - In a bowl, mix together all the ingredients (except oil to deep fry). Add little water and knead into a dough.
  2. Form small balls out of it and deep fry them in hot oil in batches till golden in colour. Drain on a kitchen towel.
  3. Kadhi - In a bowl, whisk together all the ingredients mentioned under 'Kadhi'. Heat oil in a pan and temper with the mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, asafoetida and curry leaves.
  4. Saute for a few seconds. Add the yoghurt mix and the chicken balls. Gently simmer till it reduces to the desired consistency.
  5. Relish it with plain steamed rice, plain biryani, pulao, jeera rice, naan, tandoori roti or chapati.
